Throughout September, participants raise funds in a variety of ways, all helping grow Border Trust's Community Impact Fund.

Every dollar raised through Local Giving Month supports communities across the Border region through Border Trust's Community Impact Fund.

Businesses

How can my business get involved?

It's easy. Register a business pledge and decide how you'd like to raise funds during September.

For example, you might donate:

  • A percentage of sales
  • The proceeds from a particular product or service
  • A fixed amount for every sale
  • Funds from a special event or promotion

We'll help you promote your participation with downloadable campaign resources.

Can we choose our own fundraising idea and duration?

Absolutely. We encourage businesses to choose an idea that suits their customers, team and business.

And you can choose the duration of your pledge throughout September - it could be a day(s), a week or the whole month.

How do we donate the funds we've raised?

You can donate online through your business fundraising page or make a direct payment to Border Trust after your campaign finishes. We'll provide simple instructions before the end of September.

Is there a minimum or maximum pledge?

No. Every contribution makes a difference, regardless of size.

Workplace and Community Fundraisers

Who can register a fundraiser?

Anyone can get involved, including schools, workplaces, sporting clubs, community groups, service clubs, families and individuals.

What sort of fundraiser can I run?

Morning teas, BBQs, raffles, dress-up days, trivia nights, sausage sizzles, fun runs, bake sales, golf days and community events are all great ways to support Local Giving Month.

Can children participate?

Yes. Schools and youth groups are encouraged to participate, with fundraising activities supervised by responsible adults.

Donations

Can I donate without creating a pledge or joining a fundraiser?

Yes. Anyone can make a tax-deductible donation at any time during Local Giving Month.

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes. Donations of $2 or more made to Border Trust are tax deductible in Australia.

Can I support a specific business or fundraiser?

Yes. If you're visiting a business or fundraiser's page, your donation will be credited towards their fundraising total while also supporting the Community Impact Fund.
